Here's a list of 10 really great exhibitions featuring print.<br /><br />Fine art prints offer great affordability to <a href="http://chicagoartcollector.com/" target="_blank">collectors</a> at all levels.<br /><br />This entry observes the phenomenon of multiple exhibitions focusing on printmaking in Chicago in the spring and summer of 2010 from Woman Made Gallery, The Chicago Printmakers Collaborative, Anchor Graphics (at Columbia College), Fermilab Art Gallery, The Ukrainian Institute of Modern Art, and The Museum of Contemporary Photography. Traditional, digital, experimental and multi-media printmaking are showcased.<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(0, 0, 153);">Highlighted:</span><br />The Chicago Printmakers Collaborative and Anchor Graphics (at Columbia College) are two printmaking organizations started in late 1980's. Both have been providing printmaking services, education, classes, dialog, and community to Chicago artists and printmakers for over 20 years. 2010 marks the celebration for these two shops with a rich variety of exhibitions in and around the Chicago-land area.<br /><br />Printmaking showcased in the Chicago area this summer at<br />Woman Made Gallery.<br /><a href="http://womanmade.org/aboutus.html" target="_blank">http://womanmade.org/aboutus.html</a><div>________________________________________________________________<br /><br />Current Printmaking Exhibitions at Woman Made:<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgC2TmQcrSalQlej6y_B6PVAqvelfBh7d39uEAKFcEfeYJVPEMRV894vAwobfz3KDsSQM-k4YM3_M4uTcXOf5R1-aZfxMc1bhX36wqzDbUPjsENt8_joL8f5rjS82vKSMWrIvH9s7Znpf4/s1600/printmaking2010_1.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 271px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgC2TmQcrSalQlej6y_B6PVAqvelfBh7d39uEAKFcEfeYJVPEMRV894vAwobfz3KDsSQM-k4YM3_M4uTcXOf5R1-aZfxMc1bhX36wqzDbUPjsENt8_joL8f5rjS82vKSMWrIvH9s7Znpf4/s400/printmaking2010_1.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5502576621873014354" border="0" /></a><span style="color: rgb(153, 153, 153);font-size:180%;"><span style="font-weight: bold;">1</span></span><br />"Category: Printmaking"<br />Curated by Deborah Wood<br />July 9 - August 26, 2010<br />National juried exhibition<br /><br /><a href="http://womanmade.org/show.html?type=group&gallery=printmaking2010&pic=1%20%20" target="_blank">Click here to view</a><br />________________________________________________________________<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgg7-fT-gk7oYpGal1ttpDZlAx3PZXjz2xXGg0x3GIsdhyglpchWMxLv9QBJinluDUAel9go99BON3gkF8xcIJ9sgAlBZXIPkNn9B2THrj1rNLffRtzuIzv26D06L25qhq4Xuc_4L2kAoc/s1600/herwaywithprint2010_1.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 263px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgg7-fT-gk7oYpGal1ttpDZlAx3PZXjz2xXGg0x3GIsdhyglpchWMxLv9QBJinluDUAel9go99BON3gkF8xcIJ9sgAlBZXIPkNn9B2THrj1rNLffRtzuIzv26D06L25qhq4Xuc_4L2kAoc/s400/herwaywithprint2010_1.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5502576038231028082" border="0" /></a><span style="color: rgb(153, 153, 153);font-size:180%;"><span style="font-weight: bold;">2</span></span><br />"Her Way With Print:<br />Printmaking and Experimental Print Works by Six Chicago Artists"<br />Conceived and organized by Kim Laurel<br />July 9 - August 26, 2010<br />Group Show<br /><br />Caroline Anderson<br />Deborah Maris Lader<br />Kim Laurel<br />Sarah Nishiura<br />Mary K. Although this variation of the word is commonly used for the movement of birds, Lloyd Patterson Jr. is using it in this instance to describe his own journey. Having moved to and from nine different locations in the last five years, Lloyd's recent prints and installations have documented his long voyage and his unsatisfied yearning for a place to call home. This installation is on View in The Fish Tank located at 623 S. Wabash on the 2nd floor next to Anchor Graphics.<br /><br /><a href="http://www.colum.edu/Academics/Art_and_Design/Facilities/Anchor_Graphics/Exhibitions/The_Fish_Tank/Past_Fish_Tank_Exhibits/Imirce.php" target="_blank">Click here to view</a><br /><br /><span style="color: rgb(153, 153, 153);font-size:180%;"><span style="font-weight: bold;">10</span></span><br />Museum of Contemporary Photography Members Printmaking Workshop<br />August 11, 2010<br />6 - 9 pm<br />In the tradition of John Baldessari, participants will reproduce manipulated photographic images as pronto plate lithographs.
